Juicy and Tender Beef Steak Recipe

     Ingredients:

1.  Steak:

2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (1 to 1.5 inches thick)

2.  Marinade:

   - 4 tablespoons olive oil

   - 3 cloves garlic, minced

   - 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried rosemary)

   - 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried thyme)

   - 1 tablespoon soy sauce

   - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

   - 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

   - 1 teaspoon salt

   - 1 teaspoon black pepper

3.  Cooking:

   - 2 tablespoons butter

   - Additional salt and pepper to taste

4.  Optional:

   - Lemon wedges for serving

   - Fresh parsley for garnish

      Step-by-Step Instructions:

   1. Preparing the Marinade:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Place the steaks in a large zip-lock bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

   2. Preparing the Steaks:

  • Remove the steaks from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to allow them to reach room temperature.
  • Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a nice sear.

   3. Cooking the Steaks (Grilling Method):

         1.  Preheat the Grill:

              - Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450-500°F / 230-260°C).

         2.  Grill the Steaks:

              - Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

              - Season the steaks with a little additional salt and pepper.

              - Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, 5-6                     minutes for medium, or to your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the                         internal temperature (135°F / 57°C for medium-rare, 145°F / 63°C for medium).

           3.   Butter Basting (Optional):

              - During the last minute of grilling, add a tablespoon of butter on top of each steak and let it                     melt.

           4. Cooking the Steaks (Pan-Searing Method):

  • Preheat the Pan:

          - Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy frying pan over high heat until it's smoking hot.

  • Sear the Steaks:

          - Add a tablespoon of olive oil to the pan.
          - Season the steaks with a little additional salt and pepper.
          - Place the steaks in the pan and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side for a good crust.

  • Butter Basting:

          - Lower the heat to medium.
          - Add 2 tablespoons of butter, along with a few sprigs of thyme and rosemary (optional) to the                 pan.
          - Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steaks for about 1-2 minutes.

           4.   Finish in the Oven (Optional):

              - For thicker steaks, you may need to finish cooking them in a preheated oven at 400°F                             (200°C)             until the desired doneness is reached.

           5. Resting the Steaks:

  • Remove the steaks from the grill or pan and transfer them to a cutting board.
  • Tent them loosely with aluminum foil and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy and tender steak.

           6. Serving:

  • Slice the steak against the grain for maximum tenderness.
  • Optionally, squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the steaks and garnish with chopped parsley.
  • Serve with your favorite sides.

Tips for Juicy and Tender Steaks:

        -         Choosing the Right Cut:

Ribeye, sirloin, and filet mignon are great options for tender steaks.

        -         Marination:

Marinating the steaks helps to infuse flavor and tenderize the meat.

        -         Room Temperature:

Bringing the steaks to room temperature before cooking ensures even cooking.

        -         High Heat Sear:

Searing at high heat locks in the juices and creates a flavorful crust.

        -         Resting:

Allowing the steak to rest before cutting ensures the juices are retained within the meat.

Enjoy your perfectly cooked, juicy, and tender beef steak!
